About Footsteps Bangladesh
Footsteps Bangladesh is a next-generation development agency that designs ventures to address various problems that exist in our communities. Footsteps recognize and understand the lack of interventions at the local level and especially problems faced by lower-income families. The organization is on a mission to empower such communities by integrating social technology and knowledge capacity and to achieve a vision where every community is empowered to efficiently address these barriers independently.
Current Projects
SHUSHASTHER ODHIKAR SHOBAR
Implemented in 2021, Shushasther Odhikar Shobar (SOS) is a public health program that works in building public health capacity to ensure access to necessary healthcare in last-mile communities across Bangladesh. From developing health infrastructure, and building awareness on necessary medical protocols to creating affordable healthcare facilities for low-income communities, SOS is on a mission to ensure no one is deprived of life-saving medical care for their socio-economic conditions.
PROJECT TRISHNA
Project Trishna is a social venture which has been designed to integrate water purification and extraction systems in communities experiencing contamination or shortage of drinking water. The project utilizes the platforms of Corporate Social Responsibility and local entrepreneurship to ensure resource mobilization for clean water accessibility. The various technologies required for water processing are acquired via partnerships with selected water-tech companies and entities.
DISASTER RESILIENCE PROGRAMME
The Disaster Resilience Programme (DRP) was implemented by Footsteps Bangladesh in 2020 with a mission to build capacity and empower communities to adapt and mitigate various forms of natural and social disasters. Footsteps is working through DRP to ensure community resilience in addressing natural disasters, reduce dependency on aid and transform elements of natural disasters into economic opportunities and models.
